For nearly two decades, organized groups of men— overwhelmingly of Pakistani Muslim descent— have preyed on vulnerable underage girls in towns across England.
The British public has lived with the uncomfortable knowledge of the “grooming gang” menace… but weren’t allowed to talk about it.
The crimes were horrific. The victims were numerous… in the thousands, as young as 10 years old. And the authorities intentionally did nothing.
Which is why the scandal isn’t just about the crimes. It’s about the police, prosecutors, the National Health Service, the schools, the child protection services, all of whom egregiously failed.
It’s also about the cowardice of politicians who refused to acknowledge, let alone solve this massive threat to public safety.
For example, in January of this year, the British Parliament rejected a national inquiry into these failures by a staggering 364 to 111 margin.
Every single member of the Labour party, under the leadership of their Prime Minister Keir Starmer, unanimously opposed any investigation in the crimes.
This is ironic given that Starmer is a former prosecutor; he didn’t think it made sense to investigate child rapists… or the brazen ineptitude of the government institutions that failed the victims… because, according to Starmer, an investigation was “the bandwagon of the far right.”
Apparently in Jolly Old England only a deranged, far right conspiracy theorist wants to protect young girls from rapists.
Fortunately, Starmer could only maintain such cowardice for six months. And earlier this week— thanks in large part to pressure from Elon Musk, the Prime Minister finally announced a national inquiry.
Another blow to Starmer’s cowardice came from a searing report by Baroness Louise Casey, a seasoned social reformer in the House of Lords, who exposed just how deeply entrenched the rot had become.
In nearly 200 pages, Casey cataloged years of willful blindness across UK institutions.
Britain’s prized National Health Service, for example, repeatedly failed to flag underage pregnancies—often multiple pregnancies—as potential signs of sexual exploitation. Health professionals wrote off abused 12-year old pregnant girls as making “lifestyle choices.”
Police didn’t just fail to act—they failed to even report the crimes as child sexual assault; in some cases, they labeled 10- and 11-year-old victims as “consenting to sexual activity.” Some were literally recorded as “promiscuous” or “prostitutes.”
If a parent behaved the way the NHS or police did—sending a 12-year-old girl with multiple pregnancies back into the hands of her abuser—they’d be in prison.
We’re not talking about one or two missed warning signs. We’re talking about a wholesale collapse of duty across every level of Britain’s public institutions. Teachers. Doctors. Police. Social workers. Entire departments of government. All operating with a level of incompetence and neglect that—if we’re being generous—rises to felony neglect.
And that’s the best-case scenario.
Because the more disturbing, far more likely reality is that it wasn’t mere incompetence—it was a coordinated, deliberate effort to look the other way.
Why? Because the rapists in the grooming gangs were overwhelmingly Muslim. And the deafening silence from teachers, doctors, police, social workers and politicians was underpinned by the fear that acknowledging the ethnic background of the perpetrators might invite accusations of racism.
At the individual level, frontline responders—police officers, social workers, NHS staff—made a grim, self-serving calculation: doing the right thing was not worth the risk to their own careers or even freedom.
Taking action meant raising uncomfortable questions about the identity of the perpetrators. And in a society where being called “racist” carries more professional danger than ignoring the rape of a child, where it’s a hate crime to share a meme rapists find offensive, silence became the safer path.
Moreover, investigating the grooming gangs would have required politicians to admit that their ideology is wrong.
For years, Britain’s political elites have been pushing open border multiculturalism… and any questioning of this this doctrine was heresy.
So the politicians and media elite had to suppress the grooming gang story, otherwise their entire political narrative would fall apart. Admitting the truth would mean admitting that their policies had failed catastrophically, and they had sacrificed their entire civilization at the altar of open border multiculturalism.
And so, in classic political fashion, they chose self-preservation. They doubled-down and passed laws making free speech a crime so no one could safely even acknowledge the problem without police knocking on the door.
Prosecutors in Britain became more likely to charge someone who posted an offensive meme rather than put child rapists in jail.
There’s a certain point where one has to wonder whether a society can become so lost, so broken, so unrecognizable, that it can even be salvaged without a hard reset.
Great Weak Britain is Patient Zero in the cancer that is consuming Western Civilization— socially, economically, politically. Perhaps it’s possible to come back from the brink… but it certainly highlights the importance of having a Plan B.
